Did you see this Anna?

Anna, you may find this of interest, 5Live radio phone-in, guy said the government regards the Carer's Allowance as income, then said it was less than the minimum wage so was illegal would that be true?

No I haven't seen that Cressida. Very interesting. Thanks for the link.

Apparently, according to eligibility, you cannot get carers allowance and a pension at the same time, so pensioners usually don't count as carers, which is ironic as many of the carers I know doing an excellent job of caring for someone, are pensioners themselves.

Meanwhile... the new CEO of Starbucks has landed a deal paying him £88million, and that's working from home, (on a beach in California) with a plane on call if he ever needs to visit the office...

Watching travel journalist Simon Calder being interviewed this morning.  The interview touched on the Govt's pay deal put to ASLEF but also the continuing & upcoming industrial action,) weekends until November if not resolved), with staff on the LNER route.

As Calder said, when the Transport Minister, Sheffield MP, Louise Haigh heard about it she said, "Oh dear.  We must get LNRR & the company's owners, WHOEVER THEY ARE, round the table to start talks."

As Calder then pointed out the owners of LNER are the Dept. of Transport, the dept run by Louise Haigh....!

Well she's clued up isn't she?

A few more years they will be earning as much as train drivers.   From what I read a lot of them are spending plenty of time sitting around at home too.

The article states "up to £88 million", so it could be a lot less, so if the share price exceeds xxxx.

It could be worth buying shares in Starbucks, sometimes they earn their money, fair or foul.

I don't believe in jealousy, if you cannot beat them, join them.
