"people in general " Are you being serious  ?

Yes of course.

When I say people in general I mean voters, academics and others who form judgements about their leaders.

Why are you so down on your fellow countrymen?

Also I know there was plenty of talk a couple of weeks ago about the '22 billion black hole'....

Not checked, but I'm pretty sure the Telegraph, Mail or Express won't have covered this story, as they did when it looked like they hoped Labour had made an 'accounting error'.

I don't subscribe to, or read, any of those publications.

I am aware you didn't specifically say I had said that, but as it was in direct response to my post, so I assumed it was aimed at me.

And adding your last comment is, shall we say, disingenuous.

Why is my last comment disingenuous? People do compare administrations and leaders - of course they do.

OK - maybe that is a tad unfair, sorry. What is your opinion of a Secretary of State for Transport who doesn't even know the government 'employ' the LNER train crews?

Not much and she should have known that.

I'm not down on anyone . Maybe you hear this in the circles you move in and the groups you are a member of but I hear from allsorts of people saying things like why are they messing about with smoking bans  or making new laws that already exist  when there are far more serious things to sort out .   They are tinkering around rather than get stuck into the job properly .

Think of the serious problems and tell me one solution they have come up with .

I don’t recall you objecting when May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak were tinkering around rather than getting stuck into the job properly?
