For someone obsessed with optics over doing the right thing, it's absolutely baffling that Starmer doesn't seem bothered about how all this looks to the average person.

Agreed - it's not a good look at all.

It's very quiet on this thread . A lot of the usual posters seem to be avoiding it .

Maybe they're out of  excuses.  I've seen:

Tories crashed economy

14 years of Tory failure

Can't fix things in six weeks

Can't fix things until parliament starts up again

20 Billion black hole

Right wing media

Whataboutery - Tories did <insert whatever Labour are doing bad> it first

None of which is a valid excuse.  If Starmer doesn't want negativity from the crap he's doing - STOP DOING IT!

His willingness to listen and to not do what the Tories did has gone out the window after just six weeks.

He's a few months into a 5 year stint with a gigantic majority.

He can do what he likes, the idiot public won't remember.

Well the first three and no. 5 all have some validity. Don't confuse that with me thinking Labour are going about everything the right way - I don't - but as a supporter of the lot who have caused so much damage to the country, you don't yet have the right to criticise.

It’s very sad that Labourites feel the need to do so much Whataboutery because their leader and wife have shown to be such scroungers and hypocrites.

And for the record, my voting record:

1992-2010: Labour

2010: Conservatives

2015: Lib Dem

2017, 2019: didn't vote

2024: Labour
