Labour today bragging they've ended the doctors strikes.

But have they?  Remember, the doctors wanted 35% - no negotiation

So, were the strikes politically motived seeing as how 22% is now sufficient - even though in June they claimed they need a 35% pay rise to act as “full pay restoration” for the 26.2% fall in the value of their incomes they have seen since 2008-09.

And there's still the threat that they'll strike again:

Well the first three and no. 5 all have some validity.

Except they don't.

Yes. They clearly have. The strikes have been called off. The deal has been accepted.

All it took was for some grown up negotiations to take place.

What a shame that the last government couldn’t do that, preferring to trigger strikes for political reasons.

What a shame you didn't see this:

15 May 2024

Government explores mediation with junior doctors committee

Both parties have agreed a preferred mediator - the union and the government will now begin the process of engaging with them.

What a shame that they prolonged the dispute for so long and only backed down when it was clear that the public didn’t agree with them.

The worst government of my lifetime. It’s going to take Starmer years to mop up the **** that they’ve left behind.

35% was presumably a starting negotiation point - it's pretty normal for both sides to go higher or lower than they will settle for.

Why did you vote Labour if you prefer the Tories' policies and way of doing things?
