The “not sure” bit refers to my knowledge of the supply of new teachers to the profession. I suspect that it might take longer than they expect.

 

The “going to try” bit refers to an aspirational government, trying to do the best for ordinary people.

 

If you found both of those things funny, you should come to my stand up show. I recommend that you put your Tena pants on to guard against embarrassment.

Its the same as the Grand statement as paying for 30 hours of free nursery care . Brilliant but the places aren't available . Just words .

There are plenty of qualified teachers not working in the profession. I’m one of them, by the way😁

 

Encouraging them to rejoin the profession isn’t going to be straightforward. Workload, pay and conditions and unrealistic expectations all play a role in driving good teachers out of schools. It will take a monumental effort to get them to return.
