Actually,  I can see the sense in him not doing surgeries, after the Leigh-on-Sea MP  was shot,  there are fanatics who can't control themselves maybe still to emerge,  hope the Intelligence services are on it.

But unfortunately that is a risk that comes with the job. Every MP will face the same risk. But they are there to serve the public and unfortunately that means they should be accessible to the public.

We have to put faith in the system that on the, thankfully, rare occasion things go wrong. The police and security service deal with it. You can't hide away 'just in case'.

Perhaps if farage kept his trap shut and stopped being so deliberately provocative and controversial, it might reduce his risk. But ultimately it's the job he chose to do. A job he battled away to get for the past 8 or so elections.  A job that he is now in a position of so he needs to get on and do it... instead of hiding away sucking up to friends in America and doing his grandstanding photo opportunities.

There are quite a few MPs who are concerned about their safety, yet it hasn't stopped them holding surgeries.

I suspect Farage is using it as an excuse not to hold surgeries - which is a shame because his constituency holds some of the poorest wards in the country (like Jaywick), and probably need a good constituency MP more than others.

He has no need to suck up to the Americans,  they seem to like him,  after all they have some things in common like having the confidence to say what they think,  I know he's unpopular with a lot of people but after May and Truss,  Raab and Cummings it's people like that who make him look a better option.

He's been given the option not to hold surgeries,  the police advised Nadine Dorries not to hold them either,  and I agree,  he has a very high profile and is more of a risk than most.  Constituents can email him if they want, might be the best way, getting replied in 'writing'.

This will suit Farage down to the ground.

He's quoted as saying he wouldn't like to spend his weekend's working in Clacton-On-Sea.

Farage is simply continuing his long term 'obtaining money by false pretence' tactics. He was a member of the European Parliamentary Fisheries Committee for three years and attended one out of 42 meetings during that period.

Farage is a self-serving shyster, and an extremely successful one thanks to the incredible number of gullible people who have minimal judgement when it comes to being able to assess others character and motives.

I’m not a fan but I want to hear what he thinks that I want to hear, I’ll make my own mind up and will not be swayed by the  hate brigade. The opportunity to vote for in favour of the reversal of Brexit would win my vote, no matter who pledged it.
