And a Secretary of State for Transport who doesn't know when a transport undertaking is her responsibility - that good.

Shes’s speaking the truth.

We shouldn’t just allow companies like DP  World to trample all over hard working people. The world doesn’t need companies like them. I’m pleased that someone is standing up to them.

But she still didn't know LNER was state controlled, even though her job in the Shadow Cabinet was Transport?

That’s very exciting.

When did that bombshell happen?

Was everyone ok afterwards?

(1) You have a very strange definition of 'exciting' - or is this just a (to be expected) diversionary tactic?

(2) When they threatened to go on strike if their demands weren't met.

(3) Probably.

As I recall, the past actions of DP world were roundly condemned by most UK politicians, not just Labour.
Whether Haigh's words/timing are good might be a moot point, but the original firing of the crews, and hiring of others allegedly below minimum wage, was likely one of the drivers for proposed legislation to protect worker's rights.

P&O Ferries’ owner pulls news of £1bn port investment after ministers criticise firm  Guardian, as that's what I was reading at the time.
Transport secretary denounced DP World over mass sackings while bringing in protections for workers at sea

As leader of the opposition, Starmer himself fiercely criticised the then prime minister Boris Johnson for giving further contracts to DP World after the P&O sackings scandal.

He mocked Johnson, saying “DP World must be quaking in their boots,” adding: “Can the prime minister guarantee that these companies will not get a penny more of taxpayers’ money – or a single tax break – until they reinstate the workforce?”

Johnson himself and the then transport secretary Grant Shapps also denounced the firm, with Shapps stating that the P&O chief executive, Peter Hebblethwaite, “would have to go” after admitting breaking the law. Hebblethwaite remains in post.

Yet another unforced error by Starmer & Co and this time with the added frisson of a local MP.

The Prime Minister is trying to put a rough first three months behind him with a shake-up of his Downing Street team and a series of events aimed at showing the government is focussed on its mission. One such event is the government’s investment summit which is due to take place on Monday. Labour promised to hold an investment summit in their first 100 days during the election campaign. The idea was that they could pitch the UK as a port of stability for investment, riding on a post-election high.

However, the mood music is rather more downbeat than they had hoped. This evening, Sky News reports that the event has been dealt a major blow after DP World, the ports and logistics giant, pulled a scheduled announcement of a £1 billion investment which was meant to be the centrepiece of the event. The reason? That investment in its London Gateway container is now reported to be under review following criticism of its subsidiary company P&O Ferries by two senior members of the government. On Wednesday, the Transport Secretary Louise Haigh announced new legislation to protect seafarers following P&O’s controversial decision to sack 800 British seafarers in 2022. In a joint press release with Angela Rayner, the pair described P&O’s actions as ‘outrageous’ and a ‘national scandal’. In an interview, Haigh went further and suggested the public boycott the company.
