The hugely successful first series held in Sheffield and hosted by Bradley and Barney Walsh saw 16 new superhuman Gladiators join the fold: Apollo, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel and Viper. These superhumans quickly become household names as viewers cheered on their favourites as they watched them competing against contenders in iconic and brand new events such as Duel and The Edge, culminating in the legendary Eliminator.

Tickets for series 2 filming are now available with audiences invited to join in the excitement live and once again from the Utilita Arena in Sheffield. This will be an initial release of August recording dates with more to be released in due course.

My little lad would have loved to have gone and we actually scored tickets to the celeb special filming but ultimately had to give them back when we realised the day's schedule.

Nothing of the timings was released prior to receiving the email stating we had the tickets and had we known before applying we wouldn't have.

Our email stated that we had to be there at 12:00 and would end at 21:30.

9.5hrs to be cooped up inside the arena is a long time.

Most filming is like that, whether you're going to see a comedy panel show, a sitcom or something else being made.

For every hour of TV, several more goes into the actual filming - especially for something like Gladiators which has multiple extensive set changes througout for each game (can be an hour or more's setup just for 90 seconds of the actual game itself to be shown on TV).

I've attended several recording of various shows,, whilst it takes a couple of hours, never has it took 9.

9 hours when you're told you cannot leave the venue, even if it's just for fresh air whilst they set change is too long.
