Music Festivals

Recommended Posts

Today's Independent newspaper reports that the Glastonbury music festival is in danger of becoming a free Palestine rally .  This seems to be the current situation doing the rounds at other gatherings around the Country .

While they are at it let us hope that those flag wavers and protesters devote a little time to those teenagers and others who were brutally murdered, raped and kidnapped at a music festival a few months ago.

If not then these protests look a little hypocritical . Let us hope that the BBC coverage concentrates on the same music as in years past so as  to not make the event political.

Nothing particular to music festivals.

Protesters protest where there are crowds and where they will get publicity.

That is whether the subject is Palestine,Climate change or whatever, and whether the venue is a snooker match,a Race Meeting or a football match.

Festivals have always been political, look at Woodstock and the other hippy ones

It's especially hilarious watching the self righteous at Glastonbury shouting about "welcoming refugees" whilst in the comfort of their surroundings protected by massive fencing stopping illegal entry.

Shouting "free Palestine" is for the people, innocents whose lives are controlled and well before  Oct 2023, systematically wiped out when and how Israeli government pleases.

If your fate meant you were born there and living under those circumstances, you'd probably be resisting too.

All you do is see one incident that took place - and forget 50 years of hurt and misery the ppl of Palestine have faced.

No one wants innocent ppl dying, be it Arab or Jews!!
