The problem was that there were major roadworks blocking normal access to get to the hotel and the satnav was totally bamboozled, sending us round in a never ending loop. After about the fourth circuit, I spotted a small one way street with no oncoming traffic and turned quickly into it. That broke the satnav loop problem and got us straight to the hotel.
