Tory leadership contest 2024

They gained double the vote share that the Lib Dems won.  The recent general election was a freak result because the Labour party won many more seats than their vote share deserved because of Reform UK taking votes away from the Tory party.  If Reform UK and the Tory party came to an arrangement then the Labour party would have no chance of winning a majority at the next general election.

Farage is quite open about his desire to destroy the Tory party - why would he want to do a deal with them?

All the pundits were predicting Cleverly was certain to make the final two this morning.  Tactical voting has clearly happened during the contest.

So much for the Tory Party being "the most sophisticated electorate in the world" ;)

Ah bless.

Either of these two will do really. Badenoch would be the bigger gift to Labour, but Honest Bob is almost as disastrous,

This is what you get when you spend years and years fighting and sticking your nose in the trough. There is nobody with any talent to lead the party.

Why wouldn't he if it gave him a position in a  future coalition government?

That's the last thing he'd want.

Being a Minister means he has to do at least some work - and we know that he's a lazy git

That's because he doesn't waste time,  so has more time on his hands to plan.  Incidentally,  what was his view on limiting immigration?

He most certainly isn't a lazy git.  You don't get to be such an high profile and influential politician by being a lazy git.
