Used to love Twicker mag. Almost a prptotype for Viz...

Also Rag parade, Boat Race, and Pyjama  Jump, and other jolly occasions.

Also Lord Mayors Parade with all the many business floats, Christmas lights, The big Sheffield Show, Fright Night, Bonfire nights in the big local parks, and cheap buses.

Sheffield was a jolly place with a lot of community spirit.

Do you think we'll ever get back to that?

I had two old pictures of Carter Place, where I was born.

One showed the busy "Little Hill" with fish monger, coal lorry and everybody out in the street gossiping with neighbors, and kids playing. Circa 1948. I lost it but somebody out there must have it.

Then this one one, circa  1955

Notice the TV aerials?

The telly changed your lives!

A jolly good morning to all you happy Lads and Lasses.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

There again, happiness could be as simple as a pint of Old Peculier! 👍

I think that Sheffield Libraries have an online photographic archive of local pictures, may be worth searching on there for the photo that you lost?

Such a lovely day today. Started as usual with my face nuzzled against my partners big hairy chest and his big strong arms around me. The sun was shining, had breakfast in the garden. A wonderful walk with my Nordic walking group, along a stream and through a nature reserve. Birdsong, flowers, baby frogs and bright blue dragonflies all over the place. Followed by a chat and a free cup of coffee at the local community centre.  A friend was celebrating her birthday today so we met up in the next village for a drink. There was a free music concert going on in the market square, the perfect way to enjoy the evening sun together.

Saturday is a fun day, I might treat myself to a few glasses of Coors today and a pub breakfast.

Happy days.

Wetherspoons?

Love their coffee and breakfasts.
