Spare a thought for the innocent people who died .

Yeah that poor bloke. May he rest in peace and I hope for a fast and full recovery for the other two injured people. The last I heard both are still critical?

It may be good for gun sales, and permit applications  😀

Every tragedy is a sales opportunity for the NRA.

Very Marmite is Trump.

He's very popular with at least half the population, that's the trouble.

But the elite establishment hate him, and will resort /have tried everything to get rid of him. An assassination attempt is not exactly unexpected, and of course the perpetrator was killed so no way of proving who he was working for, or whether he was working alone.

We are living in very strange times...

Trump has always been part of the "elite establishment". You only have to look at who the big donors to his campaigns and who fund his advisers like the Heritage Foundation.

I'm sorry for the person who died, and the injured hope they make a recovery.

You could see the defiance in Trunp as he was taken to his car, waving his arm in the air, and I think shouting I'm OK.

Did the murderer think he was going to stop democracy.

I would have thought every firearms related incident should be a wake-up call for greater control?

Most gun incidents are with illegal firearms so greater gun control wouldn't help a great deal.

It is, but the Republicans always block any attempt to implement increased control.

Clinton introduced a ban on the public owning automatic weapons, the Republicans repealed it and have prevented its reintroduction. There were many shorts fired at Trump in a very short period so the shooter was obviously using an automatic weapon. Had that ban still been in place, what would have happened yesterday?
