Suggestions for flat woodland walks?

Recommended Posts

With the hot weather we're on the look out for a reasonably flat walking place under the cover of trees, not a million miles away.

Had to be quite flat because of the wife having hip issues at the moment.

The one we've been doing is Ecclesall woods from Whirlowdale Road to Abbey Lane, however it's not very far for the dog.

Start at Wincobank, walk along Ecclesfield Rd, through Woolley Woods till you get to Grange Lane.

Turn right down Grange Lane, and then walk along the old railway track back to Wincobank.

I used to run it cus it's flat.. only about 3 miles, mostly through woods.

Porter Brook Trail? Start in Endcliffe Park then you can go as far as you want before turning back, it goes right out to Mayfield Valley and the Peaks. Endcliffe park bit is always busy but it quietens down once you cross Rustlings Road. I enjoy going as far as Forge Dam then crossing over and using the path on the other side of the Porter Brook coming back.
