Phrases Relatives Said When We Were Kids

My mother-in-law used to say,  "You'll never know your luck 'til you tek yer barra back". 

Some more of her sayings, "he wor a brick" "bloomin' hummer", "You'll get what Mary got". That last one cracks me up, what the heck did it mean, does anyone know Mary or what she got?

Couldn't stop a pig in an entry.

 

E' wants to know t' bottom end o' Maggs trumpet. ( Never understood that one, or ever found any explanation of it anywhere. )
