My bold.

He raped a 12 year old girl. What the hells wrong with you?

Underlined.

Victim blaming now eh?

I am well aware what he did. That is why he got charged and sentenced and jailed and released.

That is not what the debate is about.  The debate is about why, now he is a free citizen released from jail, he seemingly is being punished again by everyone criticising and piling on for doing a job. A job, which the under  the rules he's perfectly entitled to do.

The debate is about why there seems to be perceived some two-tier system for those who have been rehabilitated.  Why should person A, a well known personality get double punishment when person B, and ordinary man in the street just carries on and picks up best they can .  How is that fair?

I am not "victim blaming", I'm just not accepting this blind one-sidedness that certain types of people have. This crime didn't happen all at the hands and circumstances created by one person. This rape was not forced upon the child. This rape was not done by some obvious paedophile who is a clear and obvious danger to all and every child that walks the earth. Some of us having enough brain power to take an objective view of circumstances and read between the lines. Not everything is so black and white.

Read his post. It's right there.

No it’s not.

I suggest that you read up on the sexual activity of teenagers and others above and below the age of consent.

Perhaps you could hark back  to your own youth.

Plenty of 15 year old girls with 16/17 year old boy friends within schools and youth clubs.

Hmmm. Am I really taking arguments on morality from a poster whose avatar wears the mascot of and whose clearly a fanboy of a world leader involved in proven sexual assault, paying off a pornstar, making disturbing comments about their own daughter and famously quoted saying that he has freedom to go and grab women by the xxxxx.

There is nothing wrong with me.

Hmmmm.  So this 12 year old girl 'totally, innocent' and 'totally unaware of what she was doing' posted pictures in a public internet forum clearly provocative enough to attract attention from a 19-year-old male in a different country, she proceeded to engage in dialogue with him for 4 months across three different platforms despite knowing his age, she arranged with him to attend her address which she disclosed to him, she was there when he attended despite her mother not being in the house, she spent the evening with him before the first act of sex which she participated in without force and she allowed him to return to her house the next day....

I'm not buying this one sidedness here.  This is statutory rape. This was not forced. This was not drugged. Age is the only factor here.

His punishment is for the underage sex. That is what his sentence was for. That is what he's now served.

In my opinion, there is a huge distance between something like this present case and a serial paedophile who is sexually assaulting with young toddlers and has a hard drive full of images.

Like I said, if the culprit was 17 years old and the victim 15 years old, the eyes of the law are just the same, but do we think we'll be having this mass outrage if that was those circumstances.

Should we allow him to practice as a teacher, or a doctor, or a nurse?

After all, he’s done his time.

Snipped

Why? I waited until I was 18, my 'first' girlfriend was 20 at the time.

I guess I was raised different eh?

Why not.  Is there a category proof that is a higher risk of doing it again.

Plenty of teachers and lecturers without previous convictions have ended up sleeping with their students.

Anyone with that sort of conviction would get nowhere near those professions nowadays. Rightly so.
