We live in rhe French countryside, There used to be a couple of dozen collared doves in the area that used to take any food we'd put out for the smaller birds, **** everywhere especially on the balcony railings. Last year a sparrow hawk took  up residence in the area and decimated them - just two or three ledt this springg. Now they've bred they're back up to a half dozen - hoping friend sparrow hawk returns before long.

 

In the meantime, like with cats, I'll chuck walnuts at them.
