This is so very bad , what is this world coming to now ?

It's not the world I grew up in. Thank christ my kids are very unlikely to have kids of their own.

All the off topic nonsense and squabbling has been removed.

This is a tragedy not a million miles from here and involving children.

Lets try to keep it sensible and to the facts of the matter.

Boy, 17, arrested in connection with stabbing

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident in Southport, Merseyside Police has said.

The teenager from the nearby village of Banks will remain in police custody to be questioned, it added.

Officers have also confirmed the stabbings are not being treated as terror-related and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened.

"At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident and we would urge people not to speculate while the investigation is ongoing," the force said.

Earlier today, police said a male had been arrested and a knife had been seized.
