Mister M
I read that in response to the riots, Sir Ian McKellen told the Times: Speaking the day after riots had rocked parts of the UK, McKellen said that it was “bewildering what’s happening to our country.” McKellen told The Times that he wants to take Player Kings, a production of Shakespeare’s Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 which he is starring in at the Noël Coward Theatre to anywhere the riots happened as a message of hope and belief. https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/theatre-dance/news/ian-mckellen-players-king-race-riots-southport-b2608149.html Edited September 6 by Mister M

He's a thug and clearly a liar too. I wonder how many more there are out there in positions of power who feel like he does? 2
ECCOnoob
3 hours ago, High Chaparral said: A lenient sentence. Why wasn't he charged with attempted murder? Depends on whether the acts committed fell under the legal definition of murder. 3 hours ago, hackey lad said: Because he will have got a solicitor who knows how to play the game . Either that or he is as thick as bar top . It's not about "playing a legal game". It's the police that determine the charges and the CPS that determine whether to prosecute on them. The prosecution and subsequent defence counsel will then present the case arguments based on the evidence. They don't make these things up on a whim.
