Well…. Who would have thought it couldn’t get any worse under the Tories?!!?

H’mm, me thinks that the riot makers don’t expect Labour to send in the Army, we shall just have to wait and see.

South Yorkshire Police statement:

51 Officers Injured in Violent Clashes Outside Rotherham Hotel

It has been confirmed that 51 police officers were injured during violent clashes outside the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Manvers, Rotherham on Sunday, 4 August. The incident involved serious acts of violence, resulting in a range of injuries including broken bones, concussion, bruising, and head wounds.

Injuries to Officers and Service Animals

Our officers faced a barrage of missiles including concrete blocks, chairs, tree branches, fire extinguishers, glass bottles, and cans. Among the injured were also service animals, with one police horse having to retire from duty after sustaining a hoof injury.

Response and Investigation

Officers who are unable to resume frontline duties due to their injuries are now involved in reviewing footage and gathering evidence to ensure those responsible face justice. Assistant Chief Constable David Hartley expressed gratitude for the community's support and emphasized the force's commitment to identifying and arresting those involved in the violence.

Assistant Chief Constable David Hartley's Statement

"Colleagues across the force have been truly grateful for the kind messages of thanks and support which have been received from our communities following the weekend’s horrific events. I am so proud of our officers’ bravery and resilience on the night and now their ongoing dedication to helping our communities remain safe, coming back to work despite being subjected to such terrible levels of violence.

"Please be assured, we are continuing our work to identify and arrest the offenders at pace. If you were involved in the outright acts of violence and thuggery on Sunday, let me be clear - we are coming for you. We are determined to be arresting each and every one of the offenders from their homes in the coming days."

Monitoring Rumours of Further Events and Implementing Future Plans

In light of reports circulating on social media about potential future events in South Yorkshire, the police have assured the public that they are closely monitoring the situation. Proportionate policing plans are in place to respond to any planned or spontaneous activities to ensure public safety.

That's plain hooliganism and thuggery- GBH charges should follow once culprits apprehended.

Many of these far right individuals are used to this type of behaviour- violence is their only language.

Some of these 'far right' individuals are just plain thickos - political allegiance is far from their thought processes - if they even think.

Edited to add: the same stupidity occurs on the 'far left'.

I see they burned down a library in Sefton. That says a lot. They probably didn't know what it was.
