The incident involved serious acts of violence, resulting in a range of injuries including broken bones, concussion, bruising, and head wounds. Injuries to Officers and Service Animals Our officers faced a barrage of missiles including concrete blocks, chairs, tree branches, fire extinguishers, glass bottles, and cans. Among the injured were also service animals, with one police horse having to retire from duty after sustaining a hoof injury. Response and Investigation Officers who are unable to resume frontline duties due to their injuries are now involved in reviewing footage and gathering evidence to ensure those responsible face justice. Assistant Chief Constable David Hartley expressed gratitude for the community's support and emphasized the force's commitment to identifying and arresting those involved in the violence. That's plain hooliganism and thuggery- GBH charges should follow once culprits apprehended.
