True.  But Dr Vernon Coleman is more qualified on both sets of “experts”.

But - so far as I am aware he has not commented, or been asked to, on this unrelated incident.

I’m don’t know if anyone has claimed to be in a direct way.  But there are plenty agendas on medical matters despite having no medical training.

I know for a fact that at least two people with postgrad scientific qualifications have posted on this thread today.  Both professional scientists.

Which makes them very well qualified to critically assess sources of evidence.

Well this thread seems to be following a predictable pattern.

Glad I dipped out last night and I think I'll socially distance myself from it today too.

Have fun people 👍

It started reasonable - then was hijacked and dragged off course, with any attempt to bring it back 'on topic' violently opposed.

But not medical doctors?

Unfortunately he has, though I'll not bother linking directly to his own site, as that will likely help provide more advertising income

https://www.simplelists.com/nfu/msg/19916788/

These folk make a significant income by peddling (sometimes dangerous) nonsense; consider the recent conviction of a chap from Lincoln who was making £1400/month from Twitter spouting far right hate messages.
AIDS denial  Wiki
Writing for The Sun newspaper in 1989, Coleman denied that AIDS was a significant risk to the heterosexual community.

He later claimed AIDS is a hoax, writing, "it is now my considered view that the disease we know as AIDS probably doesn't exist and has never existed".

The Status of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic in Sub-Saharan Africa

Five million adults and children became newly infected with HIV in 2001, 3.5 million of them from sub-Saharan Africa.

Three million people died from AIDS-related causes in 2001, and 2.2 million of these deaths were among sub-Saharan Africans.

There's a separate thread somewhere for conspiracy theories, so may we return this one to MPox please.

It's not a new disease, though it looks like this recent variant may be more virulent.
This article from 2022 is interesting and informative; primarily aimed at the US gay community, but still contains plenty of relevant information.

Maybe not - but  their education and training will mean they can analyse  and critically asses the data and sources they are presented with, as @Prettytom has said.

Critical analysis is one thing.  Specialist expertise is another. You wouldn’t see an engineer or marine biologist for medical advice though would you?

Like all qualified medical doctors who have told the truth about covid-19, Dr Vernon Coleman has been repeatedly lied about and libelled on the internet and in the mainstream media:

I haven't bothered clicking that link, for the same reason as @peak4 above, but it probably wasn't your best choice.
