spilldig
We had one lad who's head was shaped like a light bulb and he was a bit dim so everybody called him 40 watt.
wearysmith
Occasionally it was 'Wolfie', as in 'Citizen Smith' (if you're old enough to remember that). One lad called me 'Irish' as my great-great-great grandmother came over from there. Most of the time it was Smithy. In the main, kids aren't known for their originality. 😀

hackey lad
Our lads mate at school was nicknamed Spud . When I asked our lad if he was called that because he was Irish he said no , it’s because his head is shaped like a potato 😂

Gormenghast
In the 50s in one of the kids comics was a character called "Little Plum" There was a lad at school who wasn't as tall as the rest of us, so he got the nickname Little Plum. As far as I know he's still called Plum <surname> now, after all this time.
