Why oh why when I put petrol in my car does it come up ----& 1p , 🤣. I am sure they conspire to do this ,just to get extra 1p each time I put petrol in . Any tips on beating this would be appreciated , 😆

A petrol station near me was notorious for this.

Between 1 and 3 pence would be added as you place the spout back in its holder.

Iirc trading standards paid them a visit and the problem suddenly stopped.

Funny that 🤣

Yeah, I sometimes dribble a bit when putting it away.

Same when I'm at the petrol station filling up the car too 😁

I'll mark that post down as another gripe.

Some petrol pumps have a series of buttons on them, similar to this; https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fgve9szlbqo301.jpg%3Fwidth%3D1080%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D6fd625dbfcb9028129948fc25f2247f74fe149ee

You can actually tap in the spending cap and the pump itself will cut out to stop you from going over 🤑

Was just coming in here to post this, Asda stations do this.

The only annoyance is that the final 70p or so is painfully slow as it slows down to a trickle.
