Notting Hill Carnival: Woman in life-threatening condition after three people stabbed

Recommended Posts

A Section 60 order was issued on Sunday night, giving officers the power to demand the removal of face coverings being used to conceal a person's identity and anyone refusing can be arrested.

A woman is in a life-threatening condition after being stabbed at the Notting Hill Carnival, the Metropolitan Police have said.

The 32-year-old woman was one of three people who were stabbed on Sunday, along with a 29-year-old man who is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and a 24-year-old man, who police say they are waiting for an update on.

Police have so far made 90 arrests across the carnival and 18 of them have been for possession of an offensive weapon.

"Hundreds of thousands of people came to Notting Hill Carnival today to enjoy a fantastic celebration," the force said in an update on Sunday night.

"Our officers have been on duty working to keep them safe as part of a very carefully planned policing operation.

"Regrettably, a minority came to commit crime and engage in violence."

They added 15 officers have been assaulted during the carnival so far.

Older people are getting caught up in it,  and it's becoming the norm to assault police.

Yes, it seems that way.

Let's hope the attackers are found quickly, hauled into court and locked away for a few years.

The knife ban and mask ban should come in ASAP, and before anyone objects to the mask ban , go and have a sit down and a good think, if you still consider banning masks is a bad idea there are hospitals specialising in mental problems that should be of help. I’m assuming that there are no objectors to the knife ban on this forum.

The section 60 order gives police powers of arrest over people who refuse to remove face coverings.

I passed a massive mob of people heading to Notting Hill about an hour ago. They were having a right old time. Looked brilliant too.

Is that paragraph 7, chapter 12 of the " what to say about the Notting Hill Carnival" left wing handbook?

Let's pretend it's St George's day and there were this many arrests, stabbings, sexual assaults and assaults on emergency workers...do you think the Guardian would be saying " it's one big ball of happiness"

And that was just on " Family day"

What in my post is nuts?

Now obviously I am assuming you have intelligence to realise that my first paragraph is tongue in cheek, but the rest is a totally valid argument.

"A big ball of happiness"

Stabbings.

A women stabbed whilst with her child.

Sexual assaults

Emergency workers assaulted

90 arrested.

Such fun.

Why would anyone get pleasure from awful acts such as a stabbing and other crimes happening at a carnival?
