Thorpist Posted August 27 Share Posted August 27 Whilst I agree that Rotherham town centre has suffered from a severe shopping decline , the out of town centres (parkgate and Meadowhall) really hurt the town and then along came internet shopping which was the final straw. The damage done to the town due to the child grooming scandal was immense completley ruining any respect for the Council and Police services. Now to the good things about Rotherham and the work the Council has done to restore pride back to the town. The AMRC is doing great things using the skills of local people. The science park at Magna. The best park in South Yorkshire (clifton ) is in the town centre . The parks department deserve a mention for keeping the town and surrounding area looking good . Wentworth house restoration project Rother valley Country park Gullivers world. Not forgetting the fine people of Rotherham with their self depriciating humour .
