It must be more than half, otherwise someone else is pocketing big time.

In East Asia (China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan), it's around £2.10-£2.50 for a pack of Marlboro. When I was last in UK, it was £15.99.

51% is more than half.

Maybe look at controlling the alcohol consumed too, some people in pubs look like they had too much to drink.

Has anyone looked into the reasons why people consume alcohol in pubs?

And also folk who eat to much?

Obesity  costs the NHS around 7 billion a year.

There are also sports, take football for example why should I pay my taxes for someone to receive treatment if they get injured while playing football?

That goes for other sports too

I once went to a boxing club and got punched by one of the other lads who was training there

Do you need it, or want it?

I drink a couple whilst cooking dinner because I want it not because I need it.

Whatever the reason I don’t mind being addicted to 3 cans a day. 😉

As long as you know your limits I can't see anything wrong with that.
