Every time there is really bad weather, we just can't cope . Be it heatwaves , bad snow , heavy rain .What do you think the problem is ?

Because the last two generations have been mainly brought up by single mums who molly coddle their kids trying to make up for the lack of a Babydaddy?

In my day we would be chucked out of the house at 6 am and not allowed back in until 9 pm no matter the weather so we learned to cope.

My answer?

Less single parent families and more Babydaddies.

Is it really so bad compared with most other places .Nothing can cater for all eventualities and most problems are caused by drivers insisting on making unnecessary journeys in snow, ice through floods etc.

No , where snow is concerned , some people just don't know how to drive properly .

The weather here is always so unpredictable, and to prepare for every eventuality would be really expensive.

Like having a fleet of snow plows when there's no guarantee that it will snow for the whole year or even next year... compare that to countries like the USA, Canada, Norway, they get predictable snow fall every single year, so they prepare, invest and the equipment gets used regularly... they get value from them.

Or the hot weather... let's be honest, the UK isn't exactly known for long hot summers, or really any kind of warm weather.

So the houses that are built, are built to keep heat inside... so when it gets really warm, we all struggle.
