A lot of trade names can come from anywhere, such as Cooper,Fletcher, Tiler, Smith etc so names specific to Sheffield, or anywhere else, might be difficult to find. This probably also applies to many other towns and cities.
kris99 Posted Saturday at 14:02 Share Posted Saturday at 14:02 Years ago, I borrowed a book from the library which named sixteen ancient Sheffield names. I can only remember three of them, probably because I knew people with these names. The names were Truelove, Bramall/Bramhall and Shirtcliffe. Have tried to find the book since but to no avail
