Israel / Gaza / Lebanon / Iran War Thread

Sky News saw families turning up at an emergency centre in Tyre, with one man revealing his house was the only one still standing in his village as Israel continues its campaign on Hezbollah targets.

Fatima told us. "We have no food, no water, nothing."

The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) said two of its workers had been killed in airstrikes, including a young mother and her son.

The agency said it was "outraged and deeply saddened" at the deaths.

Dina Daarwiche and her family were at home in the Bekaa Valley when the house was targeted.

She and her youngest son were killed and her husband and second child are critical in hospital.

The second UNHCR worker was named as Ali Basma, who had worked in the agency's Tyre office for seven years.

The Lebanese Ministry Of Health said the number killed in Monday and Tuesday's airstrikes included children and many women and had now risen to nearly 600.

UNHCR said in a statement: "The protection of civilians is a must.

"We reiterate the UN secretary-general's call for urgent de-escalation and calls on all parties to protect civilians, including aid workers in line with obligations under international humanitarian law."

We've been witnessing multiple airstrikes in the south throughout the day and evening with the constant sounds of blasts and ambulance sirens going off.

The head of Tyre's emergency response, Hassan Dbouk, told us: "Half of the IDPs (displaced people), they slept in the garden, on the beach, without any tent, any cover, any blanket, in the streets and in their cars, that's a disaster.

"And when you see the eyes of the babies and the women, it's really a disaster."

As desperate people turned up at the disaster response centre in Tyre, one man told us his was the only house still standing in his village.

"They hit them all," Abu Ali said.

This is definitely a worrying escalation and doesn't seem to be ending any time soon.

Your thoughts?

Firing rockets and mortars into Israel is all fun and games till the IAF want to join in the fun.

Feel sorry for the civilians caught up in this, but Hezbollah has been poking the bear for nearly a year now.  Sooner or later they were going to become the main focus of Israel's ire.

Is the correct answer.

Ask yourself this....

Who would you want in charge of your life, your views, your wife and daughter?

A... Hezbollah or Hamas

B.  Israel?

Exactly.

Israel's defence strategy seems the most effective although there should be a ceasefire now,  it's the civilians who have made up the huge number of

deaths and casualties in this war,  they have forsaken their religion for Netanyahu's warmongering.

That's what the mainstream media want ppl to believe- but as always,  much more deeper behind the scenes and what truth is.

Israel currently illegally occupies two portions of  Lebanese territory-in violation of International Law.

You can read up on that by looking into the history of Lebanon.

Oh, another thing, Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982, under the pretext that the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) was a terrorist organization that was firing projectiles and shooting at Israel...sound familiar??

Is that what they said about Hamas..and as with PLO back then, they bombed civilian areas- claiming weapons and tunnels were there. Also that civilians were used as "human shields".

Targets included hospitals and schools, on the IDF saying these buildings were actually used for terrorist activities...where have we heard all this before?! Bingo! Gaza...

My personal opinion is israel is continuing with impunity and that Hezbolla will end up entering into a war with Israel.

I suspect you are not alone in that opinion
Israel puts troops on alert for possible ground incursion into Lebanon  Middle East Eye
Israel's warning it is preparing for ground offensive comes as US President Joe Biden admits 'all-out war is possible'

Israel told troops on Wednesday to prepare for a potential ground incursion of Lebanon, as US President Joe Biden warned that an "all-out war is possible".

Israel's General Herzi Halevi told soldiers that Israel’s air strikes on Lebanon were being conducted “to prepare the ground for your possible entry” into Lebanon.

“We are preparing the process of a manoeuvre, which means your military boots, your manoeuvring boots, will enter enemy territory, enter villages that Hizbollah has prepared as large military outposts,” according to a statement from the military.

Halevi’s remarks came as Israel called up two reserve brigades to serve in the north, saying their activation would “enable the continuation of combat” against Hezbollah.

Since it is remembered annually in September, I suspect the memories of The Sabra & Shatila Massacre will still be high in many peoples minds there.

[ I'm not claiming this to be an unbiassed website, but there are plenty of other sources available too, such as Wiki or MEE again]
The Sabra and Shatila massacre was a massacre of up to 3,500 Palestinian refugees by Israel’s proxy militia, the Phalange, during Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982.

The horrific slaughter prompted outrage and condemnation around the world, with the United Nations General Assembly condemning it as “an act of genocide.”

How about none of the above, or are no other opinions permitted?
