I don't much fancy anyone else's chances against the Israelis right now, they're taking on all comers and pulling no punches.

The Palestinians paid an extremely high price for the actions of Hamas, who in turn have lost fighters and leadership alike.  Now Hezbollah have taken a big loss, the Lebanese people must be terrified they will suffer the same fate as the Palestinians.

Iran for all it's posturing and rhetoric has not yet followed through on any of the threats it's made, they hope their proxy forces will do the dirty work.

I believe Israel is trying its best to provoke Iran and Lebanon into a full scale war, if that happens Israels Iron dome will not work to protect the country, therefore the Americans will be dragged into the conflict

because Iran didn't already take their best shot at Israel and fail completely?

Although I'm sure you know exactly what's going on right?

No they didn't,  they have more powerful weapons that they didn't use, the 300 drones that they used were merely a token gesture, a response designed not to inflict any serious damage and not escalate the conflict,  they have far more powerful weapons that will not be shot down and can get past the iron dome.

Some folk seem to have forgotten this story, which certainly implies that Iran do not want to escalate to a hot war.

Iran says it gave warning before attacking Israel. US says that's not true The Jerusalem Post links; [personally I'm more inclined to believe that the US was warned in advance, but daren't admit it for internal political reasons.]
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Sunday that Iran gave neighboring countries and Israel's ally the United States 72 hours' notice it would launch the strikes.

Turkish, Jordanian and Iraqi officials said on Sunday that Iran gave wide notice days before its drone and missile attack on Israel, but US officials said Tehran did not warn Washington and that it was aiming to cause significant damage.

Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles on Saturday in a retaliatory strike after a suspected Israeli strike on its embassy compound in Syria.

Iran didn't warn America/Israel directly, but they definitely let Jordan and Iraq in on the plan.  Knowing full well the message would get through.

which goes to show that they wanted to respond in a way that would minimise deaths and not escalate the situation, they also said they were going to attack an enemy air base and gave a clear message to make sure it was evacuated by army personnel, they used one of their better quality weapons to prove that if they actually wanted to destroy an air base they could, dont be fooled into thinking that Iran would be a walk over, they could cause a massive amount of damage to Israel if they wanted to, they have thousands of missiles all tucked away in bunkers and tunnels, they can soon be deployed and then put back underground again, the Iranians have not been wasting their time, they have been learning from past experiences.

So they shot off 300+ drones and missiles??  and how did Israel respond?  a single missile.

Sure, sure.

They've just been making all these threats and not following through, because they don't want to reveal their true potential.

I believe they are trying to keep a lid on the conflict, whereas Israel have been trying their  very best escalate it
