Annie Bynnol Posted Thursday at 07:04 Share Posted Thursday at 07:04 Or A Doctor on Whats App offers too much cash to test Moderna Covid vaccine Or Anti vaxx group complains about Doctor who offers more for a trial than approved by Moderna. The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has a Code of Practice for its members. Moderna is a member. The Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority is responsible for administering the Code. The Children’s Covid Vaccines Advisory Council of which Dr Rosamond Jones describes herself as a Convenor, complained about a NHS paediatrician who made "... an unapproved WhatsApp message used to promote the recruitment of children into a clinical trial which the complainant alleged offered an inappropriate financial inducement." NHS paediatrician offered £1500 on completion of the study that involved: - A brief screening visit to the hospital] - A visit to receive the booster dose of vaccine - 3 monthly brief visits to the hospital as follow up - Completing a daily e-diary saying how they feel for a year This level of remuneration was regarded as too high and that Moderna should have known about the offer and the way it was advertised. As a ABPI member was found to have been in: Breach of Clause 5.1 Failing to maintain high standards Breach of Clause 2 Bringing discredit upon, and reducing confidence in, the pharmaceutical industry Full report
