I know that the benefactor of the will can also be the executor, but what if you consider them too young for this responsibility, so how would you choose an executor? Delbow Posted Thursday at 17:12 Share Posted Thursday at 17:12 I've made a will but I haven't made a way. Or does the will become the way when you die?

Prettytom Posted Thursday at 18:10 Share Posted Thursday at 18:10 I made my will about 20 years ago. I’ve just made an appointment to update it. I’ve just watched a young man die, with assets, but without a will. By the time anyone thought about it, he wasn’t able to make one. Not having a will has caused quite a bit of unpleasantness, which could have been avoided with some forethought. It doesn’t take long, or cost much, so please think about it. I’m also about to apply for an enduring power of attorney, for when I finally make no sense to anyone. These things need doing in advance.
Delbow Posted Thursday at 18:25 Share Posted Thursday at 18:25 Do you mean lasting power of attorney? Definitely worth doing, finally managed to persuade my mum & dad to do theirs this year, it will mean that their preferences will be more to the fore if they do lose capacity at some point.
