Does anyone rememeber the mainsonettes near Pye Bank?

There was Denholme Close, Marcus Drive and Neville Close and Drive.

I remember the Millward brothers, lived on the same block as us. Other names I can remember are Beal, Marshall, Wilman, Cranstone, White.

I went to Pye Bank Infant and Junior and then onto Pye Bank Trinity.

I know a paul wilman, from pitsmoor .used to play football with him,still see him every few weeks

Cherry works behind the bar at the Tollgate mate I was chatting to him the other week, supprised to see him that side actually.

I went to school with Wildie funny enough his first name has sliiped my mind to.

No what you mean about the hair style, still white last time I saw him he must be the oldest natural blonde in Britain, always reminds me of Joe Brown.

 

think your talking about raymond wilde better known down pitsmoor as chesney hawkes.

Goodness me!!! i just saw this thread n didnt have time to read all but what i did read brought back many memories, i went to pye bank school in 1967 for bout 3 yrs we lived on andover st my brothers mark n danny was there after me ( mrs andrews ill never forget took us for needle work couldnt stand her lol) i remember mr wilson then miss hancock( married n was called mrs stokes i think ) was my form teachers.then bungreave for a year then to earl marshal. i left sheffield then came back in later years . worked behind the bar at the highway lol so i remember some o the lads talked about on here . my parents n brothers lived on andover drive after andover st. oh well thx all for the blast from da past n the memories xx
