sarah1
When we had ours fitted a couple of years ago, we got told it should be between 1.5 and 2.5..

sarah1
We have to have ours closer to the 2.5 mark as it has to go up to the radiator in the loft..
FORE
We have to have ours closer to the 2.5 mark as it has to go up to the radiator in the loft.. Is the pressure of the system relevant to the highest radiator? I would have thought that was the PUMP pressure and the balancing of the system (and maybe pipe size). Our family have 2 houses with attic rads that plod along at 1 barr.

It's what the fella who fitted our new boiler and rads suggestered so we went along with it.. I'm in no position to differ with him as I know nothing about boilers, except what he told me... :D
skanky
anybody know what pressure should be on combi boiler mine is just going into the red the boiler make is an alpha and just less than 12 months old. thanks If you don't have the manual, it can be downloaded from here: http://www.alpha-nextgen.co.uk/downloads.asp Generally it should be in the green band when the boiler is cold, and slightly higher when warm. (I always think keep it high enough to avoid the boiler's safety cut-out, about 0.5 bar, and low enough to not go looking for a chance to find a leak!!) SupraSteve
Surely you want it to stay below the red bit, preferably by a decent margin? Doesn't the boiler have a recommended range written on it somewhere, e.g. inside a pull-down/take-off panel where you get at the basic controls? alchresearch
I'd say read the manual, or RTFM. Don't go on what other people's boilers are like.
