It is the 100e. When we drop the front down we can't see the leak, it is coming out through the grid on the bottom, at the right hand side as you look at it on the wall. It only leaks when the hot tap is running, not the cold, if that helps?

I think John that the grid the OP is referring to is the plastic cutout casing at the bottom of the boiler.

Like you I don't like Glowworms, they are so unreliable. Maybe things will improve now that they are owned by Vaillant.

I bet you that the leak is coming from the domestic hot water flow switch, a small diverter valve which sits just to the right of the pump on the right hand side of the boiler. Common cause of leaks on this boiler. If its not fixed it will end up leaking onto its microswitch and the leak also has easy access to the main pcb (poorly designed the compacts)

I have a slight problem with a Worcester boiler.

I recently fixed the boiler by replacing the bearings in the flu fan, before that the fan was not running freely and the pressure switch was indicating a flu fault and preventing the boiler from lighting up.

Anyhow all that seems to work fine now, but when someone runs lots of hot water for a bath ( 10-15 mins!! ) then there appears to be a steam blow off at the top through an outlet.

It never did this before, does anyone know if is it a serious problem ?

thanks

Hi there

I've not looked for quotes yet but wondered if anyone could give me some advice on how much I could expect to pay for installing a new combi boiler to replace my current, 25 year old one.

Has anyone recently done this? Can you recommend anybody?

Thanks in advance

it all depends on the boiler fitted british gas usually start at 3500 depending on the deal of the day ..

usually discounts down to 2800 on a basic install.

includes 2 year warranty and first year 5 star cover and 1st year safety check

most smaller companies are usually up to 30% cheaper.

Depending on your circumstances you might be eligible for a grant through the various places offering free £££.

I'd start by contacting the Energy Saving Trust as those folks know their potatoes. EST also have a list of local installers of combi condensers. I assume you're looking for a natural gas burner.

Warmfront are another option but I think your boiler has to be broken and you need to be in receipt of certain benefits.
