blue11265
In the early seventies there was a house at the end of Yew Lane (halifax road side) with a very large boat in the back garden that seemed to tower above the house. I think that is was a self build project and as kids on our way to Granny's house we used to look out for it. It was there for some years. After it was removed from the site my uncle told me that the man had taken it out to sea and that it had sunk. I think that my uncle was taking the p### but it must have took a lot of organising to move a boat as large as that. does anyone else remember it ? tiffy
I remember that now you've mentioned it. It was a bit of a landmark wasn't it? I haven't a clue what happened to it.
zorba
I remember it as well, I used to pass it on my way to school. The house had a swimming pool and the owner used to drive a jensen interceptor.... I heard that it had sunk as well.... Shame it looked pretty impressive... Saxon
I used to knock about with the two lads that lived there - one was slightly older than me and one younger. I think their surname was Strawson. Never went in the boat though!!
