Can anyone suggest a good restaurant in Matlock/Darely Moor area?

I'm wanting to eat out in matlock for a special occassion, does anyone have any ideas?

I think its called Merlins in Matlock, upstairs opposite the park. Not the cheapest but fantastic steak well reccommended best I have ever had.

Merlins is no more I'm afraid ...

 

I'd recommend The Whitworth Hotel in Darley Dale .. a lovely Hotel, decked out with big chunky tables and mis matched chairs ... The food is superb, and you can get deals during the week £10 for 2 courses and £13 for three (I think) ...
