It was a compleatly differant webber, not the one that plays for us.

From the quote i have seen, it looks like he is talking about Danny,

With Gareth Taylor about three weeks away from fitness and Calvin Zola still sidelined with a foot injury, Moore has been on the phone over the weekend desperately trying to bring in competition for places upfront with Steven Davies and Chris Greenacre the only fit and available strikers.

Victory over Port Vale on Friday night would see Tranmere move to the top of League One overnight at least, but Moore concedes his hope of signing an experienced striker in time for the game is fading.

Talking to Tranmere World on Monday he said:

"A lot of clubs aren't going to let too many experienced players out. We certainly are short.

"We've been on the phone to Sheffield United. They've got thousands there, they just won't let anybody out. The (Neil) Shipperley types or a (Danny) Webber. But Webber is involved and Neil (Warnock) is not looking to let any of the strikers go.

"That goes for probably all of them, or certainly the vast majority I have spoken to in the Premiership. You can have the kids but you can't have the experience.

"Then you've got to look at the Championship. Is there somebody in there we've missed whose not getting a sniff? whose fallen out with the manager? That's the type of thing you've got to be looking at."

Moore also admitted he was reluctant to bring in a young player on loan if an experienced one could not be found.

"The problem we have is that if you take a kid from Manchester United, Liverpool or Everton, say, they've got to come and play in your first team. They will let players come but they insist they play. Is that fair on Davies? He did well with his commitment at Swansea. If we can get an experienced striker I've got to do it."

Despite his failure to land either of the Sheffield United men, his interest in bringing players of that calibre to Prenton Park is likely to please many Rovers fans.
