carcrash
Sheffield United's Premiership promotion doubles turnover Sheffield United announced a doubling of turnover as it won promotion to the Premiership and saw its highest average crowds for more than 30 years. The Aim-listed company said its turnover increased 109% to £27.2m in the year to the end of June. It said its property joint venture, United Scarborough Estates, made operating profits of £2.5m and it is now launching a second joint venture. The Blades' promotion to the Premiership last season left the club with an additional bill of £5.6m for player and management wages and bonuses. Article continues But it is expected to make an additional £20m in revenues next year, mainly from a share of revenues from Premiership television rights. It said it had also sold a record 21,000 season tickets for the current season. This year Sheffield United bought a football club in China, the first European club to do so. The acquisition of Chengdu Five Bull FC in Sichuan resulted from chairman Kevin McCabe's other property interests in China. The company is also wants to apply for a licence to build a Las Vegas-style casino resort in Sheffield. Sheffield is one of the seven locations that have been shortlisted by the government a planned super-casino that will be built under newly liberalised gambling laws. In 2004 Sheffield United signed a deal with the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, owner of several casinos on the Las Vegas strip.

So our turn over is about what those sad sacks in S6 owe, and next time in Vegas I will stay at the Sands Looks like we will be on very steady financial ground for many years to come , McCabe certainly knows what hes doing with United. carcrash
I've said before on this thread in the past but it does seem very strange to have a Chairman and board who seem to know what they are doing
duffman
OH DEAR. :hihi: :hihi: .Cheer up man, soon be saturday. When Saturday comes eh? doesn't bother me we are most likely in for a whooping, i'm looking forward to the game It's been too long since we have thrown abuse at each other but since it's been a bit childish lately here (some people don't know when to stop) it may be better left Another time maybe when it's all gone to pot . . . . Oh to hell with it....I heard Paul Sturrocks in a job where he will be handling more money. He is now emptying the penny slots at Napoleons casino
