The driver on the bus I travelled on this morning told us that traffic was being diverted away from High Street as the Police were already blocking it off to prepare for the event. It was the Tour of Britain bike race. I don't see why they have to hold a sporting event on public roads. I wonder how many extra tons of carbon were emitted because of all the traffic jams?
