Cyclone
Highly amusing that some people think advice given to them for antibiotic type x should be applied to all antibiotics.
BluePolo
If I couldn't go a week without drinking alcohol whilst taking antibiotics, I think I'd be more worried about being an alcoholic....
YakQueudrue
Drinking antibiotics whilst on a one week course of alcohol never harmed me and I was told I shouldn't be taking either whilst I was still on amphetimines.
artisan
http://www.abc.net.au/science/k2/moments/s1380836.htm It says its OK here. I always thought that the booze stopped the antibiotics working, but it says not. So fill your boots!

Metronidazole is related to a drug used to discourage alcohol consumption, called antabuse, and shares some of its side effects. What happens when you drink alcohol when you're on it is that you'll feel like death warmed up and vomit for England, but that reaction in itself is actually harmless (you won't pop your clogs or anything - but you'll wish that you had cos you'll feel that dreadful). illuminati
Why not just drink and skip the antibiotics
Paul2412
Quick question, can i drink alcohol with taking antibiotics? Or does it cancel it out? I was on antibiotics when abroad a couple of years ago. Took a tablet at 3pm, later on it was an England game so I went out and had about 4 pints later that night. All night, and most of the next day I was violently ill
