Meaks
The acoustics in the Dev Cat are awful. For some reason the sound of chatter seems deafening in there.
Meaks
Swim Inn is fine, but then so is anywhere you can get loaded on the cheap Well, except maybe the Brown Bear..

steve_sufc
I think the best pub in Sheffield is The Swim Inn on West Street Sheffield. I take it you've only been to 1 pub in Sheffield then?

tom3t0
which are the best eh? i'll have to say the ones on the outskirts and not in the centre, although they are some good pubs in the centre with a decent atmosphere, i find there is a friendlier atmosphere in the suburban pubs, - i might be saying this because ive begun pubcrawling away from the centre recently though. Basically have a drink in one go to the next and youll soon find some pubs you like
pippadoll
Have you tried the Bath for a quiet pint. Nice place just off West Street, far from the madding crowd.
