Plain Talker
Think there might still be a few down Eastern Avenue opposite the playing fields, don't quote me though nope the prefabs were flattened, pretty much en-masse round the time of the gales in 1962. My great-grandparents lived in one of the Arbourthorne prefabs, and my aunt lived in one on Intake (hollybank I think) The errington road/ eastern avenue area, where the prefabs were, was built-over with finnegan houses, and vic hallam houses in the mid/late 60s. (I have heard they are now scheduled for demolition, too... not bad, I suppose; a 40-yr lifespan for properties designed to last 10/15 yrs, max)) There aren't many prefabs left in sheffield, except up stannington, and, IIRC chapeltown/high-green.
