Jehovahs Witness conference in Hellaby.

The reason we do not have blood is because the Bible instructs us not to, and

we believe in the Bible's resurrection so anyone who dies now will be brought back to life.

1) Blood transfusions were a technology not thought up when the injunction "Do not partake of blood" was given.

Certain pagan religions in the middle east, in Old-Testament times, used the drinking of sacrificial blood in their rituals. The injunction God gave was not to partake in the rituals, and not to drink the blood.

2) I didn't know the bible had died, to need resurrection! ;)

But they claim only 144,000 will make it into the kingdom of God.

But their own church membership is more than that!

So what chance for the rest of us and why only 144,00?

The figure of 144,000 refers to the 12 tribes of Israel (the descendants of the 12 sons of Jacob - Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Gad, Issachar, Joseph, Judah, Levi, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon, and Zebulun).

There will, according to the Bible, be 12,000 people of righteousness/ purity, from each tribe, who will achieve a place in heaven.

With the greatest respect to the Jehovah's Witnesses, nowhere in the Bible does it state that 144,000 witnesses will achieve that (And I studied the Bible for nearly forty years before my conversion to Islam, and know it upside down and inside out!) it says the 12 tribes of Israel.

I think this is the verse -

Revelations 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Who the 144,000 are is quite clearly set out in revelation 7:-

Revelation 7:4

And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

Revelation 7:5

From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed,

from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,

Revelation 7:6

from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,

Revelation 7:7

from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,

Revelation 7:8

from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.

later, in Revelation 14 the verses go on to say:-

...No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

so, basically, according to the Bible, the 144,000 are going to be Males, from the 12 tribes, who are virgins, and who have never told a lie.

If God forbids it then we won't do it, we do everything God instructs such as witnessing to people all over the world.

So you stone rape victims?

Deuteronomy 22:23-24
If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

And you all follow God's rules regarding women and their "discharge"?

Leviticus 19
19 “When a woman has a discharge, and it consists of blood from her body, she will be unclean because of her menstruation for seven days. Everyone who touches her will be unclean until evening. 20 Anything she lies on during her menstruation will become unclean, and anything she sits on will become unclean. 21 Everyone who touches her bed is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening. 22 Everyone who touches any furniture she was sitting on is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening. 23 If discharge is on the bed or the furniture she was sitting on, when he touches it he will be unclean until evening. 24 If a man sleeps with her, and blood from her menstruation gets on him, he will be unclean for seven days, and every bed he lies on will become unclean.

25 “When a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days, though it is not the time of her menstruation, or if she has a discharge beyond her period, she will be unclean all the days of her unclean discharge, as she is during the days of her menstruation. 26 Any bed she lies on during the days of her discharge will be like her bed during menstrual impurity; any furniture she sits on will be unclean as in her menstrual period. 27 Everyone who touches them will be unclean; he must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening. 28 When she is cured of her discharge, she is to count seven days, and after that she will be clean. 29 On the eighth day she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 30 The priest is to sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her before the LORD because of her unclean discharge.

Or do you just follow the bits that suit the prejudices, morals and ethics of your leaders, and ignore the rest?

This begs the question. Children. If they are brought up JW, then it isn't free will is it?

Children might attend meetings with their parents but once they are old enough to make their own decisions then it is up to them if they stay or leave. Children cannot be left alone while their parents are at meetings. They may be children of Jehovah's Witnesses but they are not one themselves unless they are baptised. No-one is forced to get baptised. Our children don't miss out on anything, they get presents and have fun like anyone else.

Whilst no-one is 'forced' they are heavily coerced in a disgusting manner.

I personally know someone who got baptised into your despicable religion purely because she knew that if she didn't her family would disown her. She doesn't believe your nonsense, she's just a member because otherwise her life would be ruined and her parents wouldn't speak to her.
