regtubby Posted October 4, 2006 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Weston Park Museum will open its doors to the public on Saturday 14 October 2006 following a massive £19m redevelopment project. ***Grand Opening Celebration*** Saturday 14 October 10am - 5pm Bring along your whole family and join Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust for the grand opening celebrations and be among the first to see the new Weston Park Museum. Live music, activities for families and a few surprises will ensure your first visit is unforgettable. Explore the world and its past, from millions of years ago to the present day. Discover Egyptian mummies, a traditional butchers shop, Snowy the polar bear and much, much more. Fascinating histories, incredible facts and hands-on interactives will bring beautiful, varied and unusual treasures to life. The brand new café will serve fresh and tasty refreshments throughout the day and the new shop will sell pocket-money priced souvenirs of your visit. A free shuttle bus, kindly provided by First, will operate between the city centre and Weston Park Museum on Saturday 14 October.
