furyfan1958
I went to King Ecgberts in 1958 when it was an all girls school and Miss Coates was our Headmistress. I can't believe she has just celebrated her 100th birthday. I remember being hauled in front of her because my fringe was covering one eye - it was immediately gripped back!!! Morty
You must have been there the same time as Smuffin, Linnet and Morty. Miss Coates certainly liked her girls to be dressed properly.

Dave650
Mr Akers - he's still there, saw him a few weeks back. Bob Evans (head teacher) has been suspended recently for diddling money for his hyundai and supply of gloss black spray paint by the sounds of things. Littlepink
I'm 40 too, Mrs Carlson.. I'm speechless. I see Mr Goodwin walking through Woodseats dropping kids off at school, he seems to have aged well too. The teachers couldn't have been as old as we thought when we were at school . i would swear mrs carlson was in her late 5o's at the time i was there ,over 25 years ago and mr applehoff must have been mid 40's . everyone over 18 was mega old at school
BrightonYork
I went there and left in 1980. I remember the Deputy Head was Mr Cartwright and the Headmistress was quite an old lady. Mr C also used to teach maths and administered the cane to me on more then one occasion!
texas01
I was there 78-82. Weird how many of the teachers I remember from then are still being talked about much later. They obviously weren't as old as I thought they were!
