cocoblade
Is the Cha-Chas bar the one that's next to The Late Bar?, just down from Devonshire Street?
Woodseats
Thought id try this new bar out last night with a friend of mine. All i can say is that if you are looking to go to a seedy little hole, then this is the place! We first had a drink downstairs. This place was full of chavs, smoke and glass all over the floor. We decided we would go upstairs hoping that would be better. We were met by the nastiest, ugliest, rude, black bouncer who told us we couldnt go in as it was "members" only!!!! What is all that about???? We asked how you become a member and he proceeded to verbally ubuse us and tell us to f**k off!!!! I would stay away if i were you! Hoof_Hearted
I actually really wanted to try this place. No particular reason, just always seem to be driving past it. Doesn't sound like the sort of place I'd like to be to be honest!
cocoblade
Where is this place and what is it called?
Hoof_Hearted
DQ, it's near the Devonshire Cat & Corporation. And I think the Salvation Army?? And Autoglass. Wow, even surprised myself there. To say that you have top quality bartenders, that's great. But can we see a drinks menu on your website perhaps?
bartender
Went for the opening day! Really nice upstairs (decor, furnature), really liked the dance floor and dj area. Barstaff were perfect! Really good at their jobs, made cocktails properly. Liked the back bar, LOVED the glassware... Good first impression. I don't know if every night is going to be like that but I enjoyed the music level too (and the music!) (dj played still dre-what a tune!). I didn't however actually try a drink, because I was hungover to hell but my friends all approved of their drinks, an old fashioned, a rum punch and a rum/butterscotch/johnnywalker thing. Interesting choice of bottles too. i think it smelt nice but i guess that was just the freshly laid paint making me high... i think the prices were very affordable too. Vini
If you can forgive my slightly abismal photography here are some pics from the Friday. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/4253/img0320sl5.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/5056/img0322fn2.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/508/img0335gz8.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/4880/img0336cw5.jpg To reiterate, this isnt a place you go to get wasted on cheap alcopops. This is a sophisticated, relaxing, ambient place. Which personally, I love, and is why I love(d) DQ.

Matt S
Thanks for the nice reviews guys... woodseats, I'm sorry you didn't get in and for anything inappropriate my doorman may have said.. As for downstairs in DQ that night, that's a night called Threads. which has been nominated by regular Sheffield people as a finalist for best club night in exposed magazine, it gets brilliant reviews on other posts on here but again I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy yourself.. Anyway, as for the other comments thank you very much guys, I'll be putting a full version of our menus for drinks, tapas and our lunch time menu on this thread within the next few days, the hecticness of this weekend with the opening and the fact we had an UG afterparty downstairs with James Zabiella till 8am on Friday has drained my time for correspondence a little.. Am off for a proper night's sleep, any more comments greatly appreciated
