extaxman
I used to work with a lady called Burrell at one of the Sheffield tax collectors, sorry, can't remember her first name. This would be around 1958 - 1963 or later, she got married after that and her surname was Hawkings. She was the daughter of the drapers on Snig Hill and, so I was told, had got a degree in French at the Sorbonne.
JohnJay
Thanks extaxman. I am in contact with a distant member of the Burrell family. I shall ask her if she can throw any light on this little snippet of information you have just thrown me.
