Mini_Cooper
And when I say 90's, again I'm not refering to Take That, East 17 or Jason Donnyman. I am of course refering to the Tekno/Hardcore Dance scene, the type of stuff that was played at Occasions, or the Palais around 1991 era, plus some of the fantastic bands that were around at the time (Northside, Charlatons etc) Shamen weren't bad either. Do any places/venues specialise in this type of music?
lennyfalcon
dont know if its of any use to you my friend but i dj at the roebuck tav on charles street in sheff town centre (opp old yorks grey) on sat nights from 8 till midnight and play alot o this stuff from shamen (progen 91), and charlatans (some friendly), some pwei, depeche mode, the cure, b52s, stone roses, ride etc. I do play a really varied amount of stuff but always take requests and if its in my vinyl stack ill always play it. its a promise. as far as clubs go its hard to find that sort o stuff but 'size of a cow' at the uni plays some old indie stuff. rachele
If anyone out ther is thinkin' about opening a night club. Please make it a 90's themed one. a. It'd make me happy b. It's just about the right time to do it as a new generation emerges. c,. It'd be a laugh d. You'd make loads of money ("This is the Rhythm of the night")

*_ash_*
Thats all i used to play (pretty much) when i played at the Carbrook on Saturday nights. It got very popular, but new job meant i couldnt keep doing it. Shame, early 90's had probably the best dance music IMO. ash

I'm doing a trial of what could be a weekly indie night at Tequila this Thursday where quite a lot of early 90s indie stuff will get played so you might want to check Planet of Sound out, you'll have to look elsewhere for early 90s rave though. 'size of a cow' is a really good night but it's only held once or twice a year the last one was a few weeks back so it's gonna be a good long wait for the next one.
