dacrlit
They listed the old Crown Court Buildings (aka Old Town Hall) in that same list a few years ago. Nothing has been done to preserve them since. Hammerton School is a beautiful and unique building that should be preserved, but it's in one of the worst and most run down areas of Sheffield, so what to do? I can't see the council being able to afford to restore it nor private business. Maybe it's only hope is to be converted into a mosque as it's in a largely Islamic area of town. I don't think so, they have enough.
soft ayperth
High Storrs School, used to be High Storrs Grammar School. I believe it's an art deco bldg.
wednesday1
The old garage which was used as a cafe, on Ashgate Road, Broomhill.
Nagel
And the old Yorkshire Bank building at Hunters Bar, now Hunter's Estate agent. It lost a lot of its Art Deco features in the recent refurbishment, but you can still see the influence.
Penske666
Theres also Steel City House where I used to work. Further out TJHughes in Doncaster is a beautiful Art Deco building although the bottom is wrecked by the cheesy shop frontage.
Mr Tibbs
There's also a lovingly restored white Deco detached house at the junction of Springfield Road and Button Hill. There was/is a also a row of 30's Deco semis on Carterknowle Road opposite the school, now completely bastardised by double glazing. There is also a nice example of an art deco house on Cloonemoor Drive, bottom left on the corner.
Nagel
There is also a nice example of an art deco house on Cloonemoor Drive, bottom left on the corner. Ah, yes. I just found it on Google street view. It's a pity the windows have been modernised as I'm sure they would have been curved windows with horizontal strips originally - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Cloonmore+Dr,+Norton,+Sheffield,+South+Yorkshire+S8+8JN,+United+Kingdom&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=14.118794,39.506836&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FRHQLQMdxr3p_w&split=0&hq=&hnear=Cloonmore+Dr,+Sheffield,+South+Yorkshire+S8+8JN,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.333308,-1.458392&spn=0.006958,0.01929&z=16&layer=c&cbll=53.333247,-1.458286&panoid=Yv13s71owWqkWSQMvWlUtA&cbp=12,28.62,,0,-2.25 You can only get a glimpse of the house on Springfield Road on street-view, but it retains the original windows and has obviously been lovingly looked after by its present owners - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=springfield+road,+sheffield&sll=53.333244,-1.458285&sspn=0.007009,0.01929&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Springfield+Rd,+Sheffield,+South+Yorkshire+S7,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.351294,-1.50665&spn=0.006955,0.01929&z=16&layer=c&cbll=53.351365,-1.506734&panoid=h0TGkKvGfLr8ngEtkyn9Ug&cbp=12,229.4,,0,-9.

I know the man that rendered it and the next stage is the window but it's going to cost.

I learnt something new today. I didn't know what 'Crittall windows' were and had to Google the term. It's the correct name for the typical Art deco windows. Thanks for the info I bet they cost, but I bet it's worth it. That house will look stunning with Crittall windows.
